Yikes! Leena, you have me over a barrel here ... I didn't even know it was a depiction of Meera or a bhajan from a movie ... I had more in mind a Baul singer of Bengal ... I picked up this pic from an Israeli website, of all places ... tho it's not as strange as it seems ... if you know a bit about secular Judaeism, you'll find quite a soft corner for Hinduism ... as for the poem ... it was written originally entirely in English ... for one of my many loves from decades ago ... who sang kirtans and Lalan Mian songs |
